The essentials
- JustLegal offers educational information and organizational tools. It is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice or representation.
- Using the platform does not create an attorney-client relationship or make communications privileged.
- You control what you prepare and share. Saving or exporting a document does not file it with a court or serve another party.
Our role and these terms
JustLegal is a project of Just Liberty Incorporated. These terms describe use of the website and account tools. Public resources can be read without an account. Account holders are asked to affirmatively accept a dated version before entering the private workspace.
Our guides, templates, suggested steps and generated text are general educational assistance. They do not determine your rights, choose a legal strategy, assess the merits of a case or substitute for advice from a qualified attorney familiar with your situation.
Your decisions and deadlines
You are responsible for checking the accuracy and completeness of your records and documents, the current rules of the correct court, filing and service requirements, fees and deadlines. Requirements vary by location and matter and may change.
A checklist, readiness indicator, calculator or generated document is an organizational aid, not a prediction of success or confirmation that your filing is legally sufficient. Obtain qualified advice when you need an assessment of your legal options. Do not delay urgent action while waiting for this platform or a response to a request.
Attorney directories and review requests
Listings, referrals and opportunities to request review are introductions, not endorsements, guarantees of availability or promises of representation. Fees, eligibility, free consultations and limited-scope services must be confirmed with each provider.
An attorney-client engagement must be arranged separately with the attorney or firm. A registration, listing, message or willingness to review information does not itself mean someone has agreed to represent you. Confirm scope, fees, confidentiality and conflicts before sending sensitive information.
Your records and sharing choices
You retain rights in material you provide. You grant the platform permission to process and store that material as needed to provide the features you use. Only upload material you are entitled to provide.
Review every sharing or publishing preview. Do not include unnecessary identifiers, sealed material or information you lack permission to disclose. Private workspace access and a public or attorney-facing request are different uses; other people may retain information you choose to share.
Accounts and acceptable use
Keep your sign-in access secure and report suspected unauthorized access. Do not impersonate a lawyer, misrepresent credentials, harass people, publish unlawful material, attempt unauthorized access or disrupt the service.
We may restrict misuse or suspend access where needed to protect the service or others. Contact us if you believe a restriction is mistaken. Keep your own copies of important records.
Availability and limitations
The service and third-party resources may contain errors, become unavailable or change. We do not promise uninterrupted service, complete information, successful synchronization, a particular legal result or that every feature will suit your matter.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, the service is provided as available without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted operation. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibilities or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded. These statements do not guarantee that a particular liability limitation will apply in every jurisdiction.
Platform materials
Your case material remains yours. The platform branding, code and original materials are subject to their applicable ownership and license terms. These terms do not transfer ownership of the software to you. Third-party court forms and linked materials retain their own terms. You may use documents prepared with the tools for your own matter.
Third-party links
These are independent third-party services. Just Liberty Incorporated is not affiliated with them, does not endorse them, and receives no payment, commission, or referral fee from any of them. Each has its own terms, privacy policy, and data practices. Prices and services shown are what each provider lists and may change; confirm with the provider directly.
Official government and court sites are also separate from JustLegal. Opening one of those sites does not make Just Liberty affiliated with that government office.
Changes and contact
Material changes to the account agreement will receive a new version and be presented for review. Routine sign-in does not require accepting the same version again. The Privacy Policy and Cookies & storage page explain data handling separately.
Questions about these terms can be sent to josh@truejust.org. This inbox is for platform questions, not legal advice, emergency assistance or service of court documents.
